Edea Carbon Filler Plugs

Edea Carbon Filler Plugs

Edea Carbon Filler Plugs can be used to fill unused holes when mounting a new plate, frame or blade on a previously mounted skating boot. If there is no hole interference for new mounting/driling locations, it is not necessary to fill the unused holes.

How to use the Carbon Filler Plugs
Apply an epoxy adhesive (usually Marine Epoxy) to the Carbon Filler Plugs. Then use needle nose pliers to hold the Carbon Filler Plug while you tap them into any unused mounting holes. These Carbon Filler Plugs are exactly the correct length for the Edea boot footbed. Sand the surfaces, both inside and outside, to restore a good smooth mounting surface. Allow them several days of drying time for the epoxy glues and fillers to cure. After allowing the adhesive to harden, the new holes can be drilled with a 2.0mm (5/64") drill bit.
If there is no hole interference for new hole locations, it is not necessary to fill the unused holes. With any boot, once there have been too many re-mounts, the boot could become less stable. This should not not be attempted if the boot soles are have many mounting holes or if the skating boots are worn and have lost support.
